The Challenge

Forty years in the trade. A digital presence that didn't show it.

GGH has been on the tools in the North East since 1986. Ex-Forces owner, eight years' British Army service. Time-served in five separate trades — bricklaying, joinery, plastering, plumbing and electrical — which is a depth of hands-on knowledge you almost never see in one firm anymore. 5.0 Google rating. Fully insured. One crew from start to finish, no subcontracting the middle out.

They cover thirteen distinct services — extensions, loft conversions, new builds, barn conversions, garage conversions, garden rooms, driveways, landscaping, bricklaying and masonry, joinery, aluminium windows and doors, property maintenance, and structural work — across the whole of the North East: Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, North Tyneside, Durham, Northumberland and Teesside.

The problem was straightforward. A homeowner in Jesmond Googling "loft conversion Jesmond", or a builder-buyer in Ponteland searching "extension builder Newcastle", doesn't land on a homepage that lists every service GGH offers — they bounce and click the firm that ranks for the exact search. A single-page site can't hold the top of the map for that spread. And even if it did, it wouldn't answer the specific question the buyer arrived with.

GGH is also the first Kopa client outside Wales — a small point, but a real one. Same Growth Engine, different postcode, same result. That's the mismatch The Kopa Growth Engine was built to fix.

What We Built

The Kopa Growth Engine — tuned for North East builders.

A page for every service
Thirteen dedicated service pages — extensions, loft conversions, new builds, barn conversions, garage conversions, garden rooms, driveways, landscaping, bricklaying & masonry, joinery, aluminium windows & doors, property maintenance, and structural work. Someone searching "loft conversion Jesmond" or "garage conversion Newcastle" lands where they searched — not on a homepage listing every trade GGH covers.
A page for every town and suburb
Area pages across the North East — Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, Sunderland, Durham, Morpeth, Hexham, Alnwick and Teesside — plus the high-value suburbs where six-figure jobs actually live: Jesmond, Gosforth, Ponteland, Darras Hall, Tynemouth, Whitley Bay, Corbridge, Riding Mill, Stocksfield, Low Fell, Whickham, Ashbrooke, Cleadon, Yarm and Eaglescliffe. Local SEO + AI SEO baked in — built to rank on Google AND get cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews when locals ask "who's the best builder in Newcastle?"
Founder story front and centre
Forty years on the tools. Ex-Forces owner. Eight years' British Army service. Time-served in five trades — bricklaying, joinery, plastering, plumbing and electrical. For high-ticket building work, that story is a bigger trust signal than any accreditation logo. The site puts it on every service and area page instead of hiding it three clicks deep on an About screen.
Ex-Forces & veteran-friendly
A 10% discount for serving personnel and veterans, surfaced clearly across the site. The North East has one of the largest veteran populations in the UK. A veteran homeowner in Alnwick or Morpeth spending £50k-plus on an extension will pick the builder who was in first — and the site says so out loud on the pages they land on.
Before & after gallery, done properly
Visual proof is the sale on a £30k-£150k+ build. GGH's before-and-after slider gallery sits in the flow of every relevant service page — not buried on a portfolio subpage. When the buyer scrolls, they see the finished job, not a stock photo.
Free quote, free site visit, no call-out charge
A written scope-of-work quote, a free site visit before pricing, and no call-out charge — surfaced on every service and area page. Removes the friction on a six-figure enquiry, so a homeowner in Gosforth just clicks the button instead of second-guessing whether they'll get stung for a £150 assessment fee.
One crew, start to finish
Every service page makes it clear GGH never subcontracts the middle out. No head office, no commissioned salespeople, no phoning round for a chippy on week three. Same crew, same phone number, the whole way through. For a homeowner comparing three quotes on a big build, that's the deciding line.
Domestic & commercial, cleanly split
GGH does both homeowner extensions and commercial fit-outs — two different buyers with two different questions. The site holds distinct copy for each so a facilities manager in Sunderland doesn't have to wade through "transform your home" language, and a homeowner in Darras Hall isn't looking at industrial reference shots. Same firm, right message on the right page.
Why It Works

The signals were already there. The site puts them on the page.

A 5.0 Google rating. Forty years in the trade, established 1986. An ex-Forces founder with eight years' British Army service and time-served credentials in five trades. Fully insured. One crew, no subcontracting. Free written quotes, free site visits, no call-out charge. Company No. 15967755 on the public register.

Those are the signals that convert building buyers on £30k-£150k+ jobs — but only if they're on the page when someone lands from a search. That's what The Kopa Growth Engine does for GGH: it takes a family-run North East builder who already earns the work in person and makes sure the website earns the click first.

Thirteen services. Eighteen area pages covering every town and suburb worth naming. Thirty-one pages doing the selling twenty-four hours a day, in the language of every specific job someone's Googling for — from Newcastle to Teesside.
